03 Apr MARSALA color of the year 2015
BUSINESS STRATEGY & BRANDING
The 2015 Pantone Color of the year was introduced back in December. Marsala is a color that has been described as robust, earthy, sophisticated, hearty, stylish, and fulfilling. The Pantone Color Institute defines this color as a “wine red with strong brown undertones.” If this almost sounds like food you, well it actually almost is. Marsala is also an Indian Spice.
Since December when the color of the year was announced, consumers have enjoyed the color Marsala in almost just about everything from beauty products to home décor.
The million-dollar question is, how exactly does the Pantone Color of the Year get picked? According to Pantone Color Institute, to pick the color they travel a lot and take notes. They look at new upcoming films, fashion on the street, and the art world. One very interesting fact is that they also look at upcoming cars! The auto industry has advance state of the art technology to create colors.
The designers at MEV are loving this new shade. What do you think about the color of the year?
